The Lightship at Haslar Marina

For those who have berthed at Haslar Marina before the big green lightvessel which sits at the marina entrance will be a familiar sight.

We’re excited to announce that as of Friday 30th of June, our beloved 1940s Lightship has opened its doors, welcoming people aboard to experience a brand-new dining experience like no other. Its location just inside Portsmouth Harbour gives the restaurant unrivalled views of the Historic Portsmouth harbour itself, the Spinnaker tower and our very own Haslar Marina.  

Offering a high-end experience that combines 1940s retro with contemporary dining, The Lightship is the perfect spot for intimate suppers on the mid-deck with a carefully curated à la carte menu which features only the best local ingredients with dishes on offer including British oysters with a selection of dressings and crab ravioli served with lobster bisque and samphire.

Visitors can also enjoy a range of drinks from local suppliers, whether it’s a glass of The Grange English sparkling wine from the Itchen Valley near Winchester, or a signature cocktail produced with local spirits from either Mermaid Gin or Solent Spirits.

On the top deck not only is the view a feast for the eyes, but guests can also tuck into fresh local seafood, including seafood sharing platters, or charcuterie boards featuring local meats, all whilst soaking in the view over the water.

As the only restaurant on a boat in the Solent we anticipate that The Lightship will soon become a favourite spot for boaters and land lovers alike, so book ahead to avoid disappointment!
