Christmas Lights Competition 2022

We are delighted to team up with Absolute Property Management Solutions this year to make the marina Christmas lights a bigger and better competition.

Absolute are a Penarth based family run company.  They specialise in managing blocks of apartments and commercial premises in South Wales including the iconic Penarth shopping arcade and numerous blocks of apartments in and around Penarth.

Company director, John Poppleton, already works with Porthcawl marina to sponsor their Christmas light competition, so being based in Penarth he wanted to get involved with the Penarth Marina Christmas lights. 

We always enjoying seeing the range of light displays that our customers put on their boats. Seeing all the Christmas lights as you walk around the marina makes the marina feel very festive.

We have worked with John this year to hopefully create a more exciting competition and to bring some fun for the berth holders whilst lighting up their boats.

The main criteria we have set for the Christmas lights is that any boat entering the competition must have lights illuminated at least 2 weeks prior to the judging day which has been set as Saturday 17th December.  The judging of the lights will be by the Mayor of Penarth, Cllr Laura Rochefort, between 6 and 7pm that evening.   

Following the judging we will be serving mulled wine and presenting the prizes to the winners.  Many thanks to Absolute Property Management Solutions Ltd for sponsoring the competition prize money:
