Today we announce the launch of Beyonder, a new boat subscription business available from March 2022, offering a more accessible way for people to enjoy the boating lifestyle.
From experienced boaters to curious dabblers, Beyonder members will be an essential part of the boatfolk community, with all the benefits that brings, including overnight stays in boatfolk marinas nationwide, great onsite facilities, marina restaurants and an integrated training package.
The Beyonder fleet offers a range of boats to suit all preferences and budgets. From smaller day boats through to larger motor boats and sailing yachts ideal for longer breaks with family and friends alike. Initially, four new boats will be available from Haslar Marina and two new boats from Portland Marina. There are plans to expand the fleet and to other marinas within the boatfolk group.
Built for today’s modern boater, Beyonder will be bookable via an app and web-based booking system, giving those who love to be afloat the freedom to escape on their terms. Each member will have their chosen “home” boat, where they can book advance stays throughout the season. They will also have unlimited “spontaneous” bookings up to 48 hours before departure if the boat is available. Spontaneous days can also be booked on other boats in the same class at any of the locations for no additional cost.
Piers Covill, Managing Director of Beyonder, comments, “I have personally been a member of the boatfolk community for many years, and know it is incredibly welcoming to new boaters. When the opportunity came up to launch something which allows people the experience of being afloat without having to worry about all the details which can make boating challenging, it seemed like a perfect fit with what boatfolk already do. It’s great to be welcoming more people into the community without them having to worry about things like trailering, storage, cleaning insurance and maintenance. All of our boats are safety checked, fuelled and ready to go so all you need to do is get your crew together!”
Dominic Zammit, Director at boatfolk, added, “Being on the water is great for the mind, body and soul. Whether your preference is sail or power, boating provides an opportunity for us to tune out of the day-to-day noise and truly connect with our family and friends. “Beyonder provides an essential bridge for those that want to get on the water but haven’t yet managed to navigate the barriers to entry to boat ownership. At boatfolk, our mission is to create great places for anyone who wants to spend time in, on or by the water. The launch of Beyonder is the next step in realising that mission and to creating a nationwide community of boaters for now, and for the next generation.”
