MayDay Safety Day

It's that time of year when the weather is improving and we're all itching to get back afloat after a long winter. To kick start the season, we've got a whole host of  workshops and clinics for all ages to give a little refresher on water safety, no matter how you choose to get afloat!

9.30AM - On-water SUP Safety Clinic with Adventure 4 All. CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST

11AM - VHF Confidence booster*. Get butterflies in your tummy every time you pick up the mic? This short clinic is all about setting those butterflies free and getting you broadcasting like Tony Blackburn! Meet at the Marina office.

11.30AM - Kids MayDay VHF Worskshop*. Do your younger crew know what to do and who to call in an emergency? Give them the confidence to make a radio call that might save someone's life one day with this short workshop. Meet at the Marina office.

12PM - Kitesurf self-rescue refresher with CS Boardsports. CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST

2PM - Swim Safe Workshop with Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre, Portland. CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST

3PM - Pre-season engine check workshop with Shaun & Tom from boatcare. The start of the boating season always sees us towing boats in from the harbour who have engine failure, avoid being one of them with our short workshop on what to check before you slip lines. Simple and easy things any one can do but they'll save a lot of frustration drifiting and a bit of money too! Meet at the boatcare office, Unit 11.

4PM - Rounding Portland Bill talk with Chris and Chris Swain. Long-term and well-known berth holders at Portland, Chris and Chris (aka Sea Squared) have been round the Bill many, many times. Sometimes they got it right, and sometimes they got it wrong! Hear there top tips for avoiding the latter. Meet at Salt.
