Haslar
Haslar Marina is a place you want to come to even if you don’t have a boat! That’s because there’s so much more on offer here than just berthing. But if you do have a boat, or you’re planning to buy one or you just want to move marinas, then here’s 10 reasons for choosing Haslar.
1. Location, location, location – Haslar Marina is just inside Portsmouth Harbour, 100 metres from the Solent (as the seagull flies!). So, you get where you want to be without the slow chug up a river or estuary at the start of your journey.
2. Friendliness – we are jolly people, and we want you to feel the joy too. From a simple ‘Hi!’ on the pontoons to joining you on the dance floor at one of our Berth Holders’ parties, we are there to make your fun time as enjoyable as possible.
3. Boatcare – At Haslar, if your boat needs some attention, we have a team that can help. Whether it’s cleaning your boat, lifting and applying anti-foul, or doing some more radical repair jobs, we'll sort it.
4. Restaurants – We want to make the before and after boating as much fun as the boating itself so we’ve provided 2 excellent waterside restaurants, both with spectacular views. The Creek offers an informal ‘home from home’ vibe while our seasonal restaurant, The Lightship is all about 1930’s glamour with a menu to match. But if you just want a pint with the best view in the South, head up to the top deck.
5. Hotel Rooms – We’ve added some hotel rooms so you can extend the fun to your non-boaty friends and family or maybe you need to get some zzz's after a busy day on the water or in our restaurants. Park for free in the carpark, check in at The Creek and step inside one of our 11 luxurious rooms. Haslar Marina is the perfect place for a big celebration – book a restaurant for your party and make the most of your time with friends by booking the rooms too.
6. Car, Train Bus access – Road access is easy. Ever since the opening of the new Stubbington bypass, driving to the marinas in Gosport has become much easier. The increased number of route options has helped to alleviate traffic congestion. No more queues to get down Hamble Lane to the marinas.
Portsmouth Harbour station has direct trains to London and much of the Southeast and is right on the harbour next to the Gosport and Isle of Wight ferries. Portsmouth bus station is next door to the train station.
7. The choice of boating destinations – The Eastern Solent provides convenient access to Chichester Harbour, Bembridge, Seaview, Priory Bay, Cowes and the Central Solent
9. Portsmouth – While London has been rightfully named the coolest place to live in the country, the tiny city of Portsmouth took second place. With the Historic Dockyard as the focus of cultural interest, there are also theatres, great shopping at Gunwharf Quays and a pleasant wander around Old Portsmouth.
10. Berth Holder Benefits – At Haslar Marina you will join the boatfolk marina family with a list of benefits:
