Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather on the day and sturdy footwear. All beach cleaning equipment is provided, although if you have your own, please bring it with you, in particular gloves. All ages welcome, for kids there is a scavenger hunt sheet for them to find along the way!
We'll be hitting a different part of Chesil Beach each day, returning to the marina around 12pm to weigh, catalogue and sort the rubbish we've collected into our rubbish display. At the end of the week, as much as possible will be recycled through Ocean Recovery Project, Waterhaul or Project Planet and turned into useful things such as benches, sunglasses, litter pickers and coasters!
Why not join Waterhaul on Friday 23rd August at their build-a-litter picker workshop, made from recycled fishing nets, sails and face masks!
If you can't make a scheduled beach, you can head out on your own mission! Simply pop along to the Clean Jurassic Coast beach clean station between 12pm and 4pm each day to pick up your equipment and the drop it back with your rubbish when you're done. On your return just weigh it in, sort it into the rubbish display and record on our Portland Week map where you cleaned and how much you picked up!
