World Oceans Day 2024

Celebrating the oceans, their biodeiversity and super powers to sustain us and highlighting why we need to protect them!

We're tying World Oceans Day into our Plastic Shores project, working with local school and youth groups to engage, educate and create a visual impact throughout the year.

Saturday 8th June 2024 to Thursday 8th June 2023

We're joining forces with Clean Jurassic Coast once more for World Oceans Day 2024 with a beach clean and scavenger hunt for the whole family!

Summer is almost here, bringing sunshine, sun tans, and an unfortunate increase in litter along our beaches. We need your help to clean up all the plastic pollution!

Tickets are free via Eventbrite. Parents - you only need tickets for your children. All details can be found on CJC's listing (see the button below).

Clean Jurassic Coast will supply litter pickers and bags, but we recommend attendees bring their own gloves. Please also wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day, and bring water and sun protection. It's free of charge to attend, we will spend roughly 45 minutes beach cleaning and ticking off the Scavenger Hunt list, before a special guest turns up to read a story to the children.

Who is this special guest? Well, that's a surprise but we can let you know that she'll be unique and your children will adore her. (Clue: she likes swimming!), there will also be time for a Q&A. The whole event will be roughly 2 hours.

Please note that we reserve the right to postpone or cancel this event if the weather is too bad. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and must stay away from the water. There will be a short safety briefing before the clean.
