We love welcoming the boatfolk community to our stand for a drink and a chat. Whether you're keen for a catch-up, have questions about berthing or are after some top-tips from our boatcare crew we're excited to welcome you to our stand (E43). What's more, we're welcoming a range of amazing guest speakers to join us throughout the show, so come along for an opportunity to learn more about inspiring individuals, organisations and projects:
Heard about our involvement in the installation of eco-moorings at Studland Bay last year? As part of our ongoing involvement with the Studland Bay Partnership we'll be joined by Neil Garrick-Maidment from The Seahorse Trust, and Sara Parker from the Dorset Coastal forum who will be at our stand all day to discuss the developments at Studland Bay and what you can make a difference.
Here at boatfolk we work closely with the Andrew Simpson Foundation who do some incredible work getting young people out on the water. At last year's boat show we announced the launched of our shared youth engagement initiative, boatgen which has since successfully given 294 kids the opportunity to get on the water. Here's a great opportunity to find out about the amazing work they do.
Following the announcement of the state funeral of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Monday 19 September, Southampton International boat show will not open on this day.
Come along and meet Molly Wilson, one of our six boatgen ambassadors who has a desire to help people from all backgrounds experience the joy of boating. An avid boater since young, Molly is now a Senior Instructor with the RYA and volunteers with the sailboat project alongside her university studies.
Ethically sourced wine that looks after the ocean, what's not to like? Sea Change are not only our wine supplier for the show (so can be enjoyed all week long) they also do some incredible work to support ocean conservation projects.
This incredible organisation helps young people achieve their potential through outdoor learning at sea. We'll be joined by Vicky Williams who will be speaking about the positive impact Challenge Wales is having, whether it be for mental health or sustainability.
Ever wanted to know more about the creatures that reside in the Solent? We've invited the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust along to share just that! They'll be shedding light on the fascinating species that call the Solent their home and some of the work they've been doing to raise awareness of these wonderful creatures.
Join us for our future leaders day and prepare to be inspired! We'll be welcoming James Harayda, Skipper and Team Principal for the Gentoo Sailing Team who we've recently joined forces with. Alongside boatgen ambassador Timothy Long and aspiring round-the-world sailor Will Croxford.
On the final day of the boat show we'll be welcoming two guests from SBS trailers who will be sharing practical advice about boat trailering as well as the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust who will be speaking about their involvement with the trust and showcasing the incredible work they do.
