The marina reception is open 24/7, however between 5pm and 8am the duty Berthing Master may be out and about so just give them a call on the office number above.

Please note, we are a cashless marina as is our boatcare store.

Access Code

  • Please pop into the marina office, or give us a call on 01305866190, to get the current code for the pontoons and facilities. 

WiFi 

We have new system which operates on WiFi Spark;

  • Choose 'boatfolk WiFiSPARK' from the available networks
  • On the next page, choose 'Temporary WiFi Access' 
  • On the log in page, enter your details. This gives you 24 hours to start with.
  • Validate your email address via the email sent to you by WiFi Spark for a further 7 days free access.
  • If you are staying with us for longer than a week, repeat the process each week you are at Portland to continue enjoying free WiFi

Electricity

Your electricity is included in your visitor berthing fees;

  • For those berthed on piers G to T (including the visitors area) simply plug and play!
  • For those berthed on piers B,C or D, we have BerthMaster Online installed.
    • Plug into the relevant socket for your berth
    • Make a note of the socket number
    • Speak to a member of the team in the Marina Office who will activate the socket for you

Laundry

Our laundry room is located between the male and female washrooms. We have 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in stacks - for instructions on their use, please see our blog post here.

  • £5 per washing cycle
  • £4.50 per hour for the dryer

Local amenities

Food shops

  • Lidl - Walk out of the marina entrance and turn right. 5 minute walk
  • Budgens - Walk out of the marina entrance and continue straight, then left and you'll find Budgens at the Shell garage. 10-15 minute walk
  • Premier - Follow the footpath towards Portland Castle, bear left up the hill and then turn left at the top. Continue straight on, Premier is opposite the D-Day museum. 15-20 minutes walk

There is also reasonably large Tesco on the top of Portland at Easton, but we would recommend taking the bus or a taxi!

ATM

The closest cash machine is located at the Shell garage. Other cash machines are located at;

  • Co-op in Fortuneswell 
  • Co-op in Easton
  • Tesco in Easton

Chandlery

Our boatcare store in Unit 11 has some chandlery supplies and if they don't have what you need in stock, they can order it in for you with fast delivery. There's also a few other local chandlerys;

  • Apollo Marine - Just outside the marina entrance
  • Bussells - Brewers Quay, Weymouth
  • Kingfisher Marine - Weymouth Harbour (other side to Brewers Quay)

Laundrette

We have laundry facilities located between the male and female washrooms. If you don't want to sit and watch your washing whirling in the machine, there's a laundrette in Fortuneswell who offer a pick up and delivery service from the marina three times a week at 8am (Mon, Weds and Fri). 

Laundry must be bagged and clearly labelled with your name, boat name and contact number. Laundry will be returned on the next pick up day.

Planes, trains and automobiles

Getting around

There's loads to do at the marina and within walking distance, but if you want to explore Portland and further afield, hop on a bus or the historic Portland ferry 'My Girl', catch a train from Weymouth or hire a bike!

Bus - the nearest bus stop is outside the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and Lidl's, depending on which direction you're heading in. Click the button below for the First Bus timetable for the #1 line.

Ferry - Runs from the marina to Brewers Quay in Weymouth three times daily. Weather dependent so check their Facebook page for updates or call 01305 785000

Train

Weymouth has the nearest train station, with a direct link to London. You can also hop on the train to visit Corfe Castle, Dorchester and other towns of interest along the Jurassic Coast.

Weymouth Bike Hire offer free delivery to the marina. You can book through their website or call them on 01305 779529 / 07548 254634 or email info@weymouthbikehire.co.uk

Parking

If you're bringing a car to the marina or hiring a car for a few days, we can pop one vehicle registration onto our system free of charge for the duration of your boat's stay in the marina. This will need to be parked in the main visitor car park (in front of the dry stack) or in our long stay Mereside car park just off site (opposite Apollo Marine). Speak to one of our crew in the Marina Office to organise.
